Radar - RADAR is a system that uses radio waves to detect, determine the direction and distance and/or speed of objects such as aircraft, ships, terrain or rain and map them. Speed detection is measured by the amount of Doppler Effect frequency shift of the reflected signal.
NEXRAD - NEXRAD or Nexrad (Next-Generation Radar) is a network of 158 high-resolution Doppler radars operated by the National Weather Service, an agency of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) within the United States Department of Commerce.
